Use matching ingredients and units
Compare the same named ingredient and chemical form. Use elemental magnesium rather than the whole magnesium compound, and explicitly declared EPA + DHA rather than total fish oil. Do not treat ingredient mass as proof of equal effectiveness.
The calculation
Total ingredient grams = label servings per container × grams per label serving. USD per gram = container price ÷ total ingredient grams. Cost per serving = container price ÷ label servings.
Convert mg to g by dividing by 1,000; convert mcg to g by dividing by 1,000,000. IU, CFU, DFE, RAE, ranges and missing blend components are not supported. One gram is a price comparison unit, not a suggested dose.
Keep the price basis consistent
Use the same treatment of shipping, tax, coupons and subscriptions for both products. An entered price is current only when you checked it. We do not store your entries or send them to analytics. Reloading clears them.
